Holy Name Society

Founded in 1922, the Holy Name Society supports the parish in a number of ways. Members, who attend the liturgy on the second Sunday of the month followed by a breakfast meeting, serve as hospitality ministers, Eucharistic ministers and lectors at the Hungarian liturgies. They also assist the Mothers' Club and St. Clare Altar Society in preparing for major parish events.

Szent Név Társulat

Az 1922-ben alapított társulat számos módon segíti a plébániát. A tagok a hónap második vasárnapján szolgálnak a szentmisén, kávézást rendeznek, fogadják a templomba jövőket, áldoztatnak és felolvasnak a magyar szentmiséken. Ezen kívül az Anyák Egyletének és a Szent Klára Oltáregyletnek segítenek a magyar ebédek megrendezésében és szervezésében.

Hungarian Lay Committee

The Hungarian Lay Committee was formed in 1966 to assist and advise the Franciscan Pastoral Team in its ministry to Hungarian-speaking parishioners in the New York metropolitan area. Meeting four times a year, the committee coordinates lay participation in worship services, keeps the Team informed of Hungarian parish organizations, and publishes a quarterly newsletter of liturgical and social events in Hungarian. Committee members also raise funds for Hungarian television programs by holding monthly coffee hours and hosting two luncheons a year.

Világi Bizottság

A magyar Világi Bizottság 1966-ban lett létrehozva azzal, hogy tanácsokkal és egyéb módon segítse a ferences lelkipásztorokat a magyar nyelvű hívek szolgálatában New Yorkban és környékén. Évente négyszer van gyűlés, ahol is a Bizottság koordinálja a hívek részvételét a liturgiákon, informálja a plébánia vezetőségét a magyar közösségben történtekről, negyedévente Értesítőt ad ki a liturgikus és társadalmi eseményekről magyarul. A Bizottság tagjai ezen kívül támogatják az egyházközség TV műsorait a havi kávéórák és évente két ebéd bevételével.

Mothers Club

The Mothers' Club was founded in 1933 as a group of mothers of children attending the parish school to provide for the needs of the school. Currently the Club supports the various programs of the parish by preparing food for, and providing assistance with, all major fundraising events of the parish. Members also sponsor ten luncheons throughout the year. Volunteers set up for the luncheons, prepare and serve food, and clean up afterwards.

Anyák Egylete

Az Anyák Egyletét 1933-ban alapította az egyházközségi iskolába járó gyermekek szüleinek egy csoportja, hogy az iskola szükségeit segítse. Jelenleg az Egylet a plébánia számos rendezvényén készítik az ételeket, és segítséget adnak a jótékony célú események szervezéséhez, lebonyolításához. A tagok évente 10 ebédet adnak. Önkéntesek készítik elő az ebédeket, készítik és szolgálják fel az ételeket és raknak rendet és takarítanak az ebédek után.

St. Clare Altar Society

Established in 1914 under the patronage of St. Clare, foundress of the women Franciscans, the St. Clare Altar Society serves the needs of the parish through devotion and fundraising. Members meet on the first Sunday of the month for the liturgy and devotional prayer. Fundraising events, which occur throughout the year, include a Mass and luncheon for couples celebrating their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries in January and remembrances of three Hungarian feast days in November. Volunteers help set up, cook and serve food, and clean up after these events.

Szent Klára Oltáregylet

1914-ben Szent Klára pártfogása alatt ferences lelkiségű asszonyok alapították azzal a céllal, hogy a plébánia lelki életét és jótékonysági céljait segítse. A tagok minden hónap első vasárnapján találkoznak közös imára és együttlétre. Jótékony célú rendezvényeken az év során — köztük a jubiláns házaspárok évfordulójával januárban és novemberben három magyar ünnepnappal — segédkeznek. Önkéntesek segítenek az előkészítésben, főznek és szolgálják fel az ételt, valamint takarítanak az események után.
